Press release for the upcoming SAADA Fair.Jeremy Astfalck of The Old Corkscrew in Franschhoek will be showing a selection of silver cutlery at the forthcoming SAADA fair. The SAADA fair held yearly at The Wanderers in Johannesburg gives a fantastic opportunity to showcase the very best antiques available for sale in South Africa. This year The Old Corkscrew has sourced some of the best silver cutlery that the shop has ever had, including two magnificent Art Deco canteens, given originally as wedding presents. Bought in the mid 1940’s at a time when South Africa imported the very best from England. These two sets, a twelve place setting and an eighteen, come with their own custom built cabinets. The joy of owing these canteens is that they are dishwasher proof, allowing them to fit nicely into our modern lifestyles. Astfalck also has two other canteens, each of six place settings. One set has clean lines and the other is decorative, catering for differing tastes. |
