Albert Edward Jones (1879-1954) studied at the central school of Arts & Crafts in Birmingham under Edward Taylor, and absorbed the tenets of the emerging Arts & Crafts style. These included a high level of craftsmanship incorporating hammered surfaces and simplicity of form. This caddy spoon is a good example of these traits, showing the original hammer marks and early date.
